#16: Get Married… Unusually
Oh yes… its that time again. Today’s, Things To Do Before You Die post is inspired by my Labor Day weekend plans. I’m going to a wedding. From what I’ve heard it is going to be a very romantic event (the groom has mentioned the words “fairytale” to me on numerous occasions). I have high expectations, but last I heard, there are doves involved… so I think expectations will be met.
However, the wedding I am attending sounds like it is going to be fairly traditional, unlike the weddings listed in the book 101 Things To Do Before You Die. Unusual is the key word here: ”In space, naked, underwater, as Elvis, on motorbikes… getting married is all about getting what you want out of your big day.”
The book offered some unique ideas…

Get Married While:
- Hang-gliding
- 30,000 ft in the air (on your way to the honeymoon)
- dressed up in a costume, Wizard of Oz theme anybody?
- But do not… get married in Las Vegas, drunk, and then have it annulled 24 hours later. That is just frowned upon.
Bottom line, this is your (meaning the couple’s) special day. No one else’s. So if you want to make it unusual, go for it! But then again, if you want to make it traditional, that is a-okay as well, after all… the goal is to get married once, right? You may has well have it to your liking, because there are no-redo’s when it is done right.

Its’ fun to get married in a different way…..how about getting married under the sea? I’d love the idea….unusual and so out of the league…
